TOWN OF CANAAN
NOTICE OF INSPECTION & PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING
THE RECLASSIFICATION OF TREATMENT PLANT ROAD FROM
A PRIVATE DRIVE TO A CLASS IV HIGHWAY:
The Town of Canaan Selectboard hereby gives notice pursuant to 19 V.S.A. § 701 et seq. of public hearing to consider the reclassification of Treatment Plant Road (0.25 Miles or 1500 Feet) from a Private Drive to a Class IV Highway.
The proposed classification will encompass the entire 0.25-miles of private drive. Treatment Plant Road’s new classification will begin at the intersection of Vermont Route 102 and the existing driveway. It will continue to 0.25 miles and will end at the gate leading into the Canaan/Stewartstown Treatment Plant.
The site inspections for the proposed reclassification will be held on March 17, 2025, preceding the hearing at 5:45 PM. The inspection will start at the intersection of Vermont Route 102 and Treatment Plant Road.
Further notice is hereby given that on March 17, 2025, the Selectboard shall conduct the hearing for the proposed reclassification. This will be in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting and will begin at 6:00 PM, at the Canaan Town Office.
