| Update on the Disposal of Appliances Containing Freon |
The Canaan Transfer Station is once again accepting the appliance containing Freon. If the Freon has been removed by a certified technician, than the appliance can go in the metals container as is. Proof of the removal must be presented to the Transfer Station attendant prior to disposal. If the appliance still contains Freon the disposal cost is $10.00 per unit and the Transfer Station attendant will direct you where to place the appliance. NRRA will then come by and remove the Freon for the Town of Canaan. We would like to thank Sylvain Lamontagne for establishing this relationship between the Town and NRRA.
